The Hayfield Hawks overwhelmed the host Falls Church Jaguars softball squad by a count of 19-6 in Wednesday's league challenge.
Next, the Hawks meet the Mount Vernon Majors (Alexandria, VA) in a National challenge, on Monday, May 12. Hayfield will attempt to upgrade on its 11-4 season record. The Majors go into the challenge with a 6-8 record after their 14-12 league win over Falls Church (Falls Church, VA).
The Jaguars (1-11) will now prepare for their challenge against Mount Vernon (Alexandria, VA). The Majors go into the National challenge with a 5-8 record. In their last challenge, Mount Vernon was routed by Edison (Alexandria, VA), 12-0, in a league challenge.
