In Thursday's league test, the Providence Catholic Celtics (New Lenox, IL) softball squad overwhelmed the visiting St. Laurence Vikings (Burbank, IL), by a tally of 9-2.

Next, the Celtics clash with the Evergreen Park Mustangs (Evergreen Park, IL) in a non-league test, on Saturday, May 9. Providence Catholic will attempt to advance on its 23-4 season record. The Mustangs go into the test with a 22-6 record after their 11-2 league win over Tinley Park (Tinley Park, IL).

The Vikings (17-5) will now prepare for their test against Loyola Academy (Wilmette, IL). The Ramblers go into the GCAC- Red test with a 11-11 record. In their last test, Loyola Academy held off Fenwick (Oak Park, IL), 15-12, in a league test.
