The Alexander Central Cougars smashed the host South Caldwell Spartans soccer squad by a margin of 5-1 in Monday's league match.
The Cougars now sport a 12-6 record. They play next when they travel to Hibriten for a Northwestern 3A/4A match on Wednesday, May 10. Alexander Central will encounter a Panthers squad coming off a 2-1 league loss to Watauga (Boone, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 11-4.
With the loss, South Caldwell drops to 5-13 on the season. The Spartans host Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC) to encounter the Huskies in a Northwestern 3A/4A match on Wednesday, May 10. The Huskies come into the match with a record of 12-5. Ashe County won 9-0 in their recent league match against Freedom (Morganton, NC)
