Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) supporters were pleased Monday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the host Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC), 9-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Huskies confront the South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) in a Northwestern 3A/4A challenge, on Wednesday, May 10. Ashe County will attempt to move on its 12-5 season record. The Spartans enter the challenge with a 5-13 record after their 5-1 league loss to Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC).

The Patriots now possess a 4-11 record. They take the field next when they travel to Watauga for a Northwestern 3A/4A challenge on Wednesday, May 10. Freedom will confront a Pioneers team coming off a 2-1 league win over Hibriten (Lenoir, NC). The Pioneers record now stands at 13-2.
