Providence Catholic Celtics (New Lenox, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Fenwick Friars (Oak Park, IL), 7-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Celtics now own a 2-1 record.

With the loss, Fenwick falls to 9-10 on the campaign. The Friars travel to Oak Park-River Forest (Oak Park, IL) to battle the Huskies in a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 13. The Huskies enter the challenge with a record of 2-4. Oak Park-River Forest won 13-3 in their recent league challenge against Downers Grove North (Downers Grove, IL)
