Moline Maroons (Moline, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Normal Community Ironmen (Normal, IL), 5-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Maroons now own a 1-2 record.

With the loss, Normal Community falls to 15-9 on the campaign. The Ironmen travel to Olympia (Stanford, IL) to battle the Spartans in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 10. The Spartans enter the challenge with a record of 1-0. Olympia won 14-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Normal Community (Normal, IL)
