The East Providence Townies softball team scored 8 runs and limited the visiting Chariho Chargers to 1 in the Townies league triumph on Monday.

With the triumph, East Providence moves its record to 8-6 on the year. The Townies travel to Prout (Wakefield, RI) to clash with the Crusaders in a game on Wednesday, May 10. The Crusaders come into the game with a record of 2-9. Prout won 10-9 in their recent non-league game against St. Raphael Academy (Pawtucket, RI)

In their next game, the Chargers clash with the Smithfield Sentinels (Esmond, RI) in a Division 1B (State) game, on Wednesday, May 10. Chariho will attempt to move on its 6-9 season record. The Sentinels come into the game with a 5-7 record after their 13-3 league win over Moses Brown (Providence, RI).
