In Monday's league outing, the host Clare Pioneers softball team scored a close 6-3 win over the Pinconning Spartans.

Coming up next, the Pioneers encounter the Shepherd Bluejays (Shepherd, MI) in a Jack Pine outing, on Thursday, May 11. Clare will attempt to upgrade on its 11-6 season record.

The Spartans (2-4) will now prepare for their outing against Meridian (Sanford, MI). The Mustangs enter the Jack Pine outing with a 9-4 record. In their last outing, Meridian was routed by Garber (Essexville, MI), 15-2, in a non-league outing.
