Guilderland Flying Dutchmen (Guilderland Center, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Columbia Blue Devils (East Greenbush, NY), 8-4 in a league challenge.

The Flying Dutchmen now own a 12-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Troy for a non-league challenge on Friday, May 12. Guilderland will face a Flying Horses squad coming off a 12-0 league win over Bethlehem Central (Delmar, NY). The Flying Horses record now stands at 15-4.

With the loss, Columbia falls to 7-10 on the campaign. The Blue devils host Schenectady (Schenectady, NY) to face the Patriots in a Section 2 Suburban - Blue challenge on Wednesday, May 10. The Patriots enter the challenge with a record of 0-10. Schenectady lost 26-0 in their recent league challenge against Shaker (Latham, NY)
