Vinal RVT Hawks (Middletown, CT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Goodwin Tech Gladiators (New Britain, CT), 25-19 in a league challenge.

The Hawks now own a 2-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to Grasso Tech for a Connecticut Tech challenge on Wednesday, May 10. Vinal RVT will battle a Eagles squad coming off a 24-7 league loss to Windham RVT (Willimantic, CT). The Eagles record now stands at 2-8.

With the loss, Goodwin Tech falls to 5-8 on the campaign. The Gladiators host Cheney RVT (Manchester, CT) to battle the Beavers in a Connecticut Tech challenge on Tuesday, May 9. The Beavers enter the challenge with a record of 2-10. Cheney RVT lost 25-7 in their recent league challenge against Prince RVT (Hartford, CT)
