Shawnee Braves (Springfield, OH) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Kenton Ridge Cougars (Springfield, OH), 2-1 in a league challenge.

The Braves now sport a 9-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Benjamin Logan for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 9. Shawnee will face a Raiders squad coming off a 1-0 non-league win over Jonathan Alder (Plain City, OH). The Raiders record now stands at 15-6.

With the loss, Kenton Ridge falls to 19-6 on the campaign.
