Skyline Hawks (Front Royal, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Meridian Mustangs (Falls Church, VA), 7-1 in a league challenge.

The Hawks now own a 12-7 record. They take the field next when they host William Monroe for a Northwestern challenge on Tuesday, May 9. Skyline will battle a Dragons squad coming off a 5-4 league win over Warren County (Front Royal, VA). The Dragons record now stands at 8-8.

With the loss, Meridian falls to 9-6 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Manassas Park (Manassas Park, VA) to battle the Cougars in a Northwestern challenge on Tuesday, May 9. The Cougars enter the challenge with a record of 1-10. Manassas Park lost 14-0 in their recent league challenge against William Monroe (Stanardsville, VA)
