Riverheads Gladiators (Staunton, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Stuarts Draft Cougars (Stuarts Draft, VA), 8-7 in a league challenge.

The Gladiators now own a 8-4 record. They take the field next when they host Fort Defiance for a Shenandoah challenge on Thursday, May 11. Riverheads will battle a Indians squad coming off a 4-3 league loss to Wilson Memorial (Fishersville, VA). The Indians record now stands at 9-8.

With the loss, Stuarts Draft falls to 13-5 on the campaign. The Cougars host Staunton (Staunton, VA) to battle the Storm in a Shenandoah challenge on Tuesday, May 9. The Storm enter the challenge with a record of 2-14. Staunton lost 18-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Spotswood (Penn Laird, VA)
