South Elgin Storm (South Elgin, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting West Chicago Wildcats (West Chicago, IL), 11-9 in a league challenge.

The Storm now own a 17-4 record. They take the field next when they host Elgin for a Upstate Eight challenge on Tuesday, May 9. South Elgin will battle a Maroons squad coming off a 11-0 league loss to West Chicago (West Chicago, IL). The Maroons record now stands at 1-19.

With the loss, West Chicago falls to 14-13 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Glenbard East (Lombard, IL) to battle the Rams in a Upstate Eight challenge on Tuesday, May 9. The Rams enter the challenge with a record of 10-9. Glenbard East lost 8-2 in their recent league challenge against Glenbard South (Glen Ellyn, IL)
