In Wednesday's league contest, the Cazenovia Lakers (Cazenovia, NY) softball team held off the host Solvay Bearcats (Solvay, NY), by a margin of 4-3.
With the triumph, Cazenovia moves its record to 5-4 on the year. The Lakers travel to Phoenix (Phoenix, NY) to play the Firebirds in a Section 3 Liberty 2 contest on Thursday, May 9. In their next game, the Bearcats play the Jordan-Elbridge Eagles (Jordan, NY) in a Section 3 Liberty 2 contest, on Thursday, May 9. Solvay will attempt to move on its 8-4 season record. The Eagles come into the contest with a 9-3 record after their 7-1 non-league win over Port Byron (Port Byron, NY).
