Hampshire Whip-Purs (Hampshire, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Central Rockets (Burlington, IL), 7-1 in a league challenge.

The Whip-Purs now sport a 15-11 record. They take the field next when they travel to Crystal Lake Central for a Fox Valley challenge on Thursday, May 9. Hampshire will face a Tigers squad coming off a 4-1 league win over Prairie Ridge (Crystal Lake, IL). The Tigers record now stands at 18-6.

With the loss, Central falls to 14-17 on the campaign. The Rockets host Huntley (Huntley, IL) to face the Red Raiders in a Fox Valley challenge on Thursday, May 9. The Red Raiders enter the challenge with a record of 25-6. Huntley won 6-3 in their recent league challenge against Dundee-Crown (Carpentersville, IL)
