Dan River Wildcats (Ringgold, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Nelson County Governors (Lovingston, VA), 11-1 in a league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 8-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Chatham for a Dogwood challenge on Friday, May 10. Dan River will face a Cavaliers squad coming off a 10-0 league loss to Appomattox County (Appomattox, VA). The Cavaliers record now stands at 7-8.

With the loss, Nelson County falls to 1-15 on the campaign. The Governors host Gretna (Gretna, VA) to face the Hawks in a Dogwood challenge on Friday, May 10. The Hawks enter the challenge with a record of 4-11. Gretna lost 6-5 in their recent league challenge against Altavista (Altavista, VA)
