In Wednesday's league outing, the visiting Orange County Fighting Hornets softball team scored a close 9-4 win over the Fluvanna County Flying Flucos.

Coming up next, the Fighting Hornets battle the Goochland Bulldogs (Goochland, VA) in a Jefferson outing, on Thursday, May 9. Orange County will attempt to upgrade on its 13-3 season record. The Bulldogs enter the outing with a 12-5 record after their 7-4 league win over Western Albemarle (Crozet, VA).

The Flying Flucos (7-9) will now prepare for their outing against Louisa County (Mineral, VA). The Lions enter the Jefferson outing with a 14-3 record. In their last outing, Louisa County tipped Charlottesville (Charlottesville, VA), 19-0, in a league outing.
