The Lyons Lions (Lyons, NY) softball nipped the visiting Marion Black Knights (Marion, NY), 5-4 in Wednesday's league bout.

The Lions (13-5) will now prepare for their bout against Palmyra-Macedon (Palmyra, NY). The Red Raiders go into the non-league bout with a 4-11 record. In their last bout, Palmyra-Macedon was edged by Wayne (Ontario Center, NY), 6-3, in a league bout.

The Black Knights now possess a 6-2 record. They play next when they host Williamson for a Wayne County bout on Monday, May 13. Marion will confront a Marauders squad coming off a 15-0 non-league loss to Bloomfield (Bloomfield, NY). The Marauders record now stands at 9-5.
