Spectators at Wednesday's non-league match between the North Rangers (Eastlake, OH) and the visiting Mentor Cardinals (Mentor, OH), witnessed North's softball squad tip Mentor by a count of 7-4.

The Rangers now sport a 16-7 record. They play next when they host Riverside for a Western Reserve match on Thursday, May 9. North will face a Beavers squad coming off a 4-0 non-league win over Perry (Massillon, OH). The Beavers record now stands at 17-8.

With the loss, Mentor moves to 16-8 on the season. The Cardinals host Brunswick (Brunswick, OH) to face the Blue Devils in a Greater Cleveland match on Thursday, May 9. The Blue Devils go into the match with a record of 19-4. Brunswick won 12-2 in their recent non-league match against St. Joseph Academy (Cleveland, OH)
