Pomperaug Panthers (Southbury, CT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Notre Dame Catholic Lancers (Fairfield, CT), 7-4 in a league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 10-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Weston for a Southwest - Colonial challenge on Friday, May 10. Pomperaug will battle a Trojans squad coming off a 18-2 league loss to New Milford (New Milford, CT). The Trojans record now stands at 2-13.

With the loss, Notre Dame Catholic falls to 10-7 on the campaign. The Lancers travel to Brookfield (Brookfield, CT) to battle the Bobcats in a Southwest - Colonial challenge on Friday, May 10. The Bobcats enter the challenge with a record of 15-3. Brookfield won 12-0 in their recent league challenge against New Fairfield (New Fairfield, CT)
