Silver Creek Black Knights (Silver Creek, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Pine Valley Central Panthers (South Dayton, NY), 6-4 in a league challenge.

The Black Knights now own a 12-2 record. They take the field next when they host Gowanda for a Chautaqua / Cattaragus I East challenge on Saturday, May 11. Silver Creek will face a Panthers squad coming off a 14-0 league win over Randolph (Randolph, NY). The Panthers record now stands at 13-2.

With the loss, Pine Valley Central falls to 2-8 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Forestville Central (Forestville, NY) to face the Hornets in a Chautaqua / Cattaragus I East challenge on Saturday, May 11. The Hornets enter the challenge with a record of 6-6. Forestville Central won 9-6 in their recent league challenge against Brocton (Brocton, NY)
