Plainfield Central Wildcats (Plainfield, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Romeoville Spartans (Romeoville, IL), 8-1 in a league challenge.

The Wildcats now sport a 14-9 record. They take the field next when they host Joliet Central for a Suburban Prairie - South challenge on Thursday, May 9. Plainfield Central will face a Steelmen squad coming off a 16-1 league loss to Plainfield East (Plainfield, IL). The Steelmen record now stands at 2-19.

With the loss, Romeoville falls to 3-17 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Joliet West (Joliet, IL) to face the Tigers in a Suburban Prairie - South challenge on Thursday, May 9. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 14-10.
