Smithville Smithies (Smithville, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Rittman Indians (Rittman, OH), 13-6 in a league challenge.

The Smithies now own a 4-12 record. They take the field next when they travel to Independence for a non-league challenge on Friday, May 10. Smithville will battle a Blue Devils squad coming off a 11-0 non-league loss to Keystone (La Grange, OH). The Blue Devils record now stands at 14-9.

With the loss, Rittman falls to 7-17 on the campaign.
