In Thursday's non-league game, the host Grand Valley Mustangs baseball team scored a close 2-1 victory over the Mathews Mustangs.

The Mustangs (11-2) will now prepare for their game against Bristol (Bristolville, OH). The Panthers enter the Northeastern Athletic- Stripes game with a 8-7 record. In their last game, Bristol held off Conneaut (Conneaut, OH), 25-1, in a non-league game.

Next, the Mustangs face the Harding Skippers (Fairport Harbor, OH) in a non-league game, on Saturday, May 10. Mathews will attempt to improve on its 3-12 season record. The Skippers enter the game with a 2-13 record after their 18-3 non-league loss to Madison (Madison, OH).
