The James River Knights baseball team scored 8 runs and held the visiting Patrick Henry Patriots to 7 in the Knights non-league win on Thursday.

The Knights now own a 5-9 record. They take the field next when they host Waynesboro for a non-league test on Saturday, May 10. James River will clash with a Little Giants team coming off a 8-1 league loss to Staunton (Staunton, VA). The Little Giants record now stands at 6-11.

With the defeat, Patrick Henry drops to 5-14 on the year. The Patriots travel to Franklin County (Rocky Mount, VA) to clash with the Eagles in a non-league test on Monday, May 12. The Eagles go into the test with a record of 10-5. Franklin County lost 8-5 in their recent league test against William Byrd (Vinton, VA)
