The Spartans (7-11) will now prepare for their challenge against Climax-Scotts (Climax, MI). The Panthers go into the non-league challenge with a 10-2 record. In their last challenge, Climax-Scotts nipped Bellevue (Bellevue, MI), 18-0, in a league challenge.

With the defeat, Portage Central drops to 4-15 on the year. The Mustangs travel to Niles (Niles, MI) to clash with the Vikings in a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 10. The Vikings go into the challenge with a record of 16-3. Niles lost 3-1 in their recent league challenge against Edwardsburg (Edwardsburg, MI)
