Salem Spartans (Salem, VA) backers exited the stadium pleased Thursday as they witnessed their soccer team get by the host George Washington Eagles (Danville, VA), 1-0 in a non-league test.

With the triumph, Salem advances its record to 7-6 on the campaign. The Spartans host Hidden Valley (Roanoke, VA) to clash with the Titans in a River Ridge test on Friday, May 9. The Titans come into the test with a record of 8-3. Hidden Valley won 2-1 in their recent non-league test against William Byrd (Vinton, VA)

The Eagles now have a 4-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Magna Vista for a Piedmont test on Tuesday, May 13.
