East Newton Patriots (Granby, MO) supporters left the game thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad topple the visiting Sarcoxie Bears (Sarcoxie, MO), 9-0 in a league game.

With the triumph, East Newton improves its record to 12-8 on the year. The Patriots host Mt. Vernon (Mt. Vernon, MO) to play the Mountaineers in a Class 2 District 6 game on Monday, May 12. The Mountaineers go into the bout with a record of 27-10. Mt. Vernon won 10-0 in their recent non-league bout against Southwest (Washburn, MO)
