Mellen Granite Diggers (Mellen, WI) supporters left the game thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad topple the visiting South Shore Cardinals (Port Wing, WI), 14-0 in a league game.

With the triumph, Mellen improves its record to 5-6 on the year. The Granite Diggers host Drummond (Drummond, WI) to play the Lumberjacks in a Northern Lights game on Tuesday, May 13. The Lumberjacks enter the game with a record of 2-3.

The Cardinals now hold a 0-7 record. They play next when they travel to New Auburn for a non-league game on Friday, May 9.
