Saranac Spartans (Saranac, NY) supporters left the game thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad topple the visiting Northeastern Clinton Cougars (Champlain, NY), 17-2 in a league game.

With the triumph, Saranac improves its record to 10-3 on the year. The Spartans travel to Beekmantown (Plattsburgh, NY) to play the Eagles in a Section 7 Champlain Valley I game on Monday, May 12. The Eagles enter the game with a record of 8-4. Beekmantown won 4-2 in their recent league game against Peru (Peru, NY)

The Cougars now hold a 6-4 record. They play next when they host Missisquoi Valley for a non-league game on Friday, May 9.
