In Thursday's league match, the visiting Northwestern Regional Highlanders softball team scored a tight 6-0 win over the Thomaston Bears.
The Highlanders (6-2) will now prepare for their match against Shepaug Valley (Washington, CT). The Spartans come into the Berkshire match with a 6-8 record. In their last match, Shepaug Valley nipped Terryville (Terryville, CT), 21-0, in a league match.
In their next game, the Bears battle the Gilbert Yellowjackets (Winsted, CT) in a Berkshire match, on Monday, May 12. Thomaston will attempt to better on its 6-4 season record. The Yellowjackets come into the match with a 0-4 record after their 19-1 league loss to Nonnewaug (Woodbury, CT).
