Illinois High School Softball - St. Bede edges Putnam County

In Thursday's league match, the host St. Bede Bruins softball team scored a tight 2-0 victory over the Putnam County Panthers.

The Bruins (13-9) will now prepare for their match against IC Catholic Prep (Elmhurst, IL). The Knights go into the non-league match with a 15-11 record. In their last match, IC Catholic Prep tipped Saint Ignatius College Prep (Chicago, IL), 9-3, in a league match.

In their next game, the Panthers battle the Marquette Crusaders (Ottawa, IL) in a Tri-County test, on Friday, May 9. Putnam County will attempt to advance on its 13-14 season record. The Crusaders go into the test with a 19-6 record after their 11-7 league loss to Seneca (Seneca, IL).
