Ohio High School Baseball - Mt. Vernon holds off Licking Heights

May 8, 2026: Mt. Vernon, OH 43050

The Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets baseball team scored 6 runs and held the visiting Licking Heights Hornets to 2 in the Yellowjackets league win on Friday.

The Yellowjackets now own a 8-11 record. They take the field next when they host East Knox for a non-league test on Saturday, May 9. Mt. Vernon will play a Bulldogs team coming off a 6-2 non-league win over South Central (Greenwich, OH). The Bulldogs record now stands at 16-4.

With the defeat, Licking Heights drops to 5-12 on the year. The Hornets travel to Newark Catholic (Newark, OH) to play the Green Wave in a Licking County test on Monday, May 11. The Green Wave go into the test with a record of 14-6.
