Fleming Colonels (Roanoke, VA) fans were pleased Monday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting Franklin County Eagles (Rocky Mount, VA), 2-1 in a league challenge.

Next, the Colonels confront the Staunton River Golden Eagles (Moneta, VA) in a Blue Ridge challenge, on Tuesday, May 10. Fleming will attempt to better on its 9-3 season record. The Golden Eagles enter the challenge with a 2-12 record after their 5-2 league loss to Byrd (Vinton, VA).

The Eagles now have a 4-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Lord Botetourt for a Blue Ridge challenge on Tuesday, May 10. Franklin County will confront a Cavaliers team coming off a 2-1 non-league win over Salem (Salem, VA). The Cavaliers record now stands at 10-4.
