Alcoa Tornadoes (Alcoa, TN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Gatlinburg-Pittman Highlanders (Gatlinburg, TN), 1-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Tornadoes now own a 17-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Union County for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 10. Alcoa will face a Patriots squad coming off a 15-0 non-league win over Cumberland Gap (Cumberland Gap, TN). The Patriots record now stands at 21-12.

With the loss, Gatlinburg-Pittman falls to 8-12 on the campaign. The Highlanders travel to Cumberland Gap (Cumberland Gap, TN) to face the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 10. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 2-10. Cumberland Gap lost 15-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Union County (Maynardville, TN)
