The crowd at Monday's league match between the Halifax County Comets (South Boston, VA) and the visiting Bassett Bengals (Bassett, VA), saw Halifax County's softball squad achieve victory over Bassett by a count of 12-1.

The Comets now sport a 13-2 record. They take the field next when they host Tunstall for a Piedmont match on Wednesday, May 11.

With the loss, Bassett falls to 3-7 on the campaign. The Bengals host Magna Vista (Ridgeway, VA) to face the Warriors in a Piedmont match on Tuesday, May 10. The Warriors enter the match with a record of 7-12. Magna Vista lost 6-4 in their recent league match against Patrick County (Stuart, VA)
