Hickory Hornets (Hermitage, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Oil City Oilers (Oil City, PA), 14-3 in a league challenge.

The Hornets now own a 10-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Corry for a District 10 Region 4 challenge on Thursday, May 12. Hickory will face a Beavers squad coming off a 8-7 league loss to Sharon (Sharon, PA). The Beavers record now stands at 2-6.

With the loss, Oil City falls to 0-9 on the campaign. The Oilers host Franklin (Franklin, PA) to face the Knights in a District 10 Region 4 challenge on Tuesday, May 10. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 14-0. Franklin won 7-6 in their recent league challenge against Jamestown (Jamestown, PA)
