Patrick Henry Patriots (Ashland, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they witnessed their softball squad hold off the host Varina Blue Devils (Richmond, VA), 10-4 in a league bout.

The Patriots (8-5) will now prepare for their bout against Godwin (Richmond, VA). The Eagles go into the non-league bout with a 7-2 record. In their last bout, Godwin held off Mechanicsville (Mechanicsville, VA), 14-0, in a non-league bout.

The Blue Devils now possess a 2-10 record. They play next when they travel to Atlee for a Capital bout on Wednesday, May 11. Varina will battle a Raiders team coming off a 15-1 non-league win over J.R. Tucker (Henrico, VA). The Raiders record now stands at 11-5.
