The Cumberland Dukes (Cumberland, VA) softball tipped the visiting Amelia County Raiders (Amelia Court House, VA), 7-6 in Tuesday's league challenge.
The Dukes now own a 5-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Randolph-Henry for a James River challenge on Thursday, May 11. Cumberland will battle a Statesmen squad coming off a 3-0 non-league win over Rustburg (Rustburg, VA). The Statesmen record now stands at 15-1.
With the loss, Amelia County falls to 9-7 on the campaign. The Raiders travel to Buckingham (Buckingham, VA) to battle the Knights in a James River challenge on Thursday, May 11. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 9-5. Buckingham won 4-3 in their recent league challenge against Nottoway (Nottoway, VA)
