The Buckingham Knights (Buckingham, VA) softball nipped the host Nottoway Cougars (Nottoway, VA), 4-3 in Tuesday's league bout.

The Knights (9-5) will now prepare for their bout against Amelia County (Amelia Court House, VA). The Raiders go into the James River bout with a 9-7 record. In their last bout, Amelia County was edged by Cumberland (Cumberland, VA), 7-6, in a league bout.

The Cougars now possess a 7-10 record. They play next when they travel to Prince Edward County for a James River bout on Thursday, May 11. Nottoway will confront a Eagles squad coming off a 2-0 league loss to Lunenburg Central (Victoria, VA). The Eagles record now stands at 0-14.
