Carmel Corsairs (Mundelein, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Joliet Catholic Hilltoppers (Joliet, IL), 7-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Corsairs now own a 18-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Zion-Benton for a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 11. Carmel will battle a Zee-Bees squad coming off a 15-5 league loss to Stevenson (Lincolnshire, IL). The Zee-Bees record now stands at 4-12.

With the loss, Joliet Catholic falls to 20-9 on the campaign. The Hilltoppers travel to Lockport (Lockport, IL) to battle the Porters in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 17. The Porters enter the challenge with a record of 22-5.
