Mapleton Mounties (Ashland, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Plymouth Big Red (Plymouth, OH), 8-6 in a league challenge.

The Mounties now own a 6-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Western Reserve for a Firelands challenge on Friday, May 12. Mapleton will face a Roughriders squad coming off a 10-4 league win over St. Paul (Norwalk, OH). The Roughriders record now stands at 4-14.

With the loss, Plymouth falls to 7-9 on the campaign. The Big red travel to Crestview (Ashland, OH) to face the Cougars in a Firelands challenge on Wednesday, May 10. The Cougars enter the challenge with a record of 13-6. Crestview won 7-1 in their recent league challenge against Plymouth (Plymouth, OH)
