Wilmington Wildcats (Wilmington, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Peotone Blue Devils (Peotone, IL), 2-1 in a league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 10-13 record. They take the field next when they travel to Peotone for a Illinois Central Eight challenge on Thursday, May 11. Wilmington will battle a Blue Devils squad coming off a 12-1 non-league win over Illinois Lutheran (Crete, IL). The Blue Devils record now stands at 10-12.

With the loss, Peotone falls to 9-12 on the campaign. The Blue devils travel to Illinois Lutheran (Crete, IL) to battle the Chargers in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 10. The Chargers enter the challenge with a record of 15-12. Illinois Lutheran won 19-4 in their recent league challenge against St. Anne (St. Anne, IL)
