Standish-Sterling Panthers (Standish, MI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting St. Francis Gladiators (Traverse City, MI), 8-6 in a non-league challenge.
The Panthers now own a 9-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Freeland for a Tri-Valley - East challenge on Saturday, May 13.
With the loss, St. Francis falls to 11-6 on the campaign. The Gladiators travel to Hopkins (Hopkins, MI) to battle the Vikings in a non-league challenge on Friday, May 12. The Vikings enter the challenge with a record of 11-6. Hopkins lost 11-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Zeeland East (Zeeland, MI)
