Spectators at Thursday's non-league match between the Alton Redbirds (Alton, IL) and the host Granite City Warriors (Granite City, IL), witnessed Alton's softball squad tip Granite City by a count of 3-0.

The Redbirds now sport a 9-10 record. They play next when they host Collinsville for a Southwestern match on Friday, May 10. Alton will face a Kahoks squad coming off a 6-3 league loss to O'Fallon (O'Fallon, IL). The Kahoks record now stands at 6-18.

With the loss, Granite City moves to 5-20 on the season. The Warriors travel to Triad (Troy, IL) to face the Knights in a non-league match on Monday, May 13. The Knights go into the match with a record of 16-11. Triad won 8-7 in their recent league match against Civic Memorial (Bethalto, IL)
