The Belleville West Maroons softball team scored 17 runs and limited the visiting East St. Louis Flyers to 2 in the Maroons league triumph on Thursday.

With the triumph, Belleville West improves its record to 10-20 on the year. The Maroons travel to Belleville East (Belleville, IL) to clash with the Lancers in a Southwestern game on Tuesday, May 14. The Lancers come into the game with a record of 20-9.

In their next game, the Flyers clash with the Carbondale Terriers (Carbondale, IL) in a non-league game, on Friday, May 10. East St. Louis will attempt to improve on its 1-13 season record. The Terriers come into the game with a 13-14 record after their 3-1 league win over Mt. Vernon (Mt. Vernon, IL).
