Spectators at Thursday's non-league match between the Illinois Valley Central Grey Ghosts (Chillicothe, IL) and the host Eureka Hornets (Eureka, IL), witnessed Illinois Valley Central's softball squad prevail over Eureka by a count of 13-5.

The Grey Ghosts now sport a 17-14 record.

With the loss, Eureka moves to 7-20 on the season. The Hornets host Henry-Senachwine (Henry, IL) to meet the Mallards in a non-league match on Friday, May 10. The Mallards go into the match with a record of 11-12. Henry-Senachwine won 6-3 in their recent league match against Putnam County (Granville, IL)
