The Grants Pass Cavemen (Grants Pass, OR) softball the host South Eugene Axe (Eugene, OR), 8-6 in Thursday's league bout.
The Cavemen (7-13) will now prepare for their bout against Sheldon (Eugene, OR). The Irish go into the 6A Southwest bout with a 18-3 record. In their last bout, Sheldon held off Sherwood (Sherwood, OR), 4-2, in a non-league bout.
The Axe now possess a 6-14 record. They play next when they travel to Pleasant Hill for a non-league bout on Thursday, May 16. South Eugene will confront a Billies squad coming off a 15-6 league win over La Pine (La Pine, OR). The Billies record now stands at 15-5.
