Nonnewaug Chiefs (Woodbury, CT) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Housatonic Mountaineers (Falls Village, CT), 10-7 in a non-league challenge.

The Chiefs now sport a 12-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Wolcott RVT for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 14.

With the loss, Housatonic falls to 3-4 on the campaign. The Mountaineers travel to Thomaston (Thomaston, CT) to face the Bears in a Berkshire challenge on Monday, May 20. The Bears enter the challenge with a record of 11-6.
